A career in beauty started off by working freelance for years for all
the major cosmetics companies until taking the role as makeup
artist for 2 years with the original team to launch Iman at their
flagship counter in Selfridges, London in 1997.
Lola Maja (Lolliepop) went on to provide personal makeup shopping services and one-on-one makeover events, later establishing Sacred and focusing on catwalk, studio photographic and wedding makeup.
Expressing herself in written form Lola was offered the role as Beauty/Style Editor and resident Make-up Artist for Noir magazine; Noir was on sale in the UK, US, Europe and Africa.
Copies of the full articles as well as photos will soon be posted on www.lolamaja.com (watch this space)
Sacred have also provided makeup for various publications in the UK and abroad including an American Publication called BHF Magazine - www.bhfmagazine.com where we worked with two of Nigeria's most prominent designers and a Turkish Magazine called Trendsetter - www.trendsettermag.com where we depicted the new 7 social sins as recently released by the Vatican. Images from these shoots can be found in our portfolio.
Live Shows/Beauty Pagents/Weddings and Photographic work are all part of the service we offer. Amongst other things in 2004 - 2008 we were at The Brit Awards; Screen Nation Awards; acted as the official makeup artists for the Miss Trinidad & Togabo and Miss Commonwealth International pagents.
We were also at the Brit Awards providing makeup for Adrianne Lau an artist based in the US who accompanied Kanye to the event.
We supported Pr1mero at The Clothes Show working with artists such as Lemar, Nathan, Estelle and Letal B amongst others;
We have also worked at Miss England, Miss Afro Carribean and various other shows including the Afro Hair and Beauty show.
Lola has worked on several music videos - one of them being Lisa Maffia's "Women of the World" looking after her co-singer Chyna from Northstar. Northstar's debut video "We've come too Far" broke the record for staying at number 1 for over 3 weeks on Channel U. It is the first video that has ever retained top position for such a long length of time.

The videos can all be viewed on You Tube as well as a clip of the live performance on Top of the Pops by clicking on the following weblinks.

Lola attended the Channel U Awards in late 2005 for the Best of British event and provided makeup for the host presenters Makosi and Simon Webb from Blue.
Through word of mouth, her reputation has grown and she has given her comments and opinions in magazine and radio interviews. Recently she was invited to participate in a lively discussion on Spectrum Radio for the "Talking Africa" show.
Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances Lola was unable to physically attend the show but called in midway to participate along with two other callers from Nigeria. The topic on debate was "Cosmetic Surgery in Africa"
